In a clinic of National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. A dozen patients died in a year. Some fall into comas. Some are paralyzed down one side of their body and can’t walk in a straight line. Some lost the ability to speak and many fall into violent seizures.

The result of MRI scans of the patients made the doctors to get down in dread. Each brain contains one or more whitish blobs. Many will think that they are just tumors. But the doctors researched and found out that the blobs are not of patient’s cells. They are Tapeworms.

We already know that tapeworms are there in every adult’s intestine. The length of the tapeworm extends about 21 feet. But a strange fact, when these worms become adult, tapeworms spent time as larvae in large cysts, these larvae losts their way and ends up in the brain causing a disease named neurocysticercosis.

If a tapeworm cyst doesn’t cause big troubles, it may go unnoticed for its entire life. Eventually a tapeworm cyst that can’t move on to its adult stage will die; this signals the host’s immune system, eliciting a powerful attack and bringing its covert deception to an end.
