The ingredients to becoming not just a good doctor, but a great one.
Be prepared to work hard, for the rest of your life.
Be honest and sincere. Treat the patient as you would like to be treated yourself.
Be a willing, eager listener.
Do not make money or fame your aim. If you’re good, the world will be at your doorstep. You won’t need a calling card.
Find a mentor within the profession who can guide you through your formative years and be there for you when you are battling doubts and indecision.
Build a good support system. Medicine is a physically and emotionally demanding profession, so it’s important to have a close circle of family and friends you can count on.
Enjoy your work. You get a chance to shine a little light into peoples’ lives every single day — how many have that privilege?
